The collection consists primarily of papers related to David M. Hickok's professional work with the Federal Field Committee, the Sea Grant Program, and the Arctic Environmental Information and Data Center (AEIDC). Series include materials written by David M. Hickok, records relating to the Alaska Academy of Engineering and Science, records of research done in connection with Edwardson et. al. v. Morton et. al. (later U.S. v. ARCO), reference files relating to arctic research and policy (including the Arctic Research and Policy Act and the Arctic Research Commission), and reference files related to the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA), D-2 Lands, Native organizations and issues, the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska, and the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR).
